Prospero, sorcerer and rightful Duke of Milan, along with his daughter Miranda, has lived on an island for many years since his position was usurped by his brother Antonio. Then, as Antonio’s ship passes near the island one day, Prospero conjures up a terrible storm… This thrilling tale of forgiveness, passion, and vengeance was Shakespeare’s final play and his farewell to the stage before his retirement.

In Shakespeare’s day, the poorest theatre patrons were the groundlings. These audience members would pay a single penny for a ticket, bring their own beer, and stand at the edge of the stage. (and even lean on it!) In this tradition, we invite audience members to be groundlings for our Silver Stage production of The Tempest. For one penny, you will be able to upgrade your regular admission ticket to a Groundling ticket. You will stand in the reserved front section of the house and experience the most intimate view in the theatre. You’ll also receive a complimentary groundlings shot (or can of soda) from the Bark Bark. Limited tickets available! Arrive early to secure your Groundlings spot at the box office on the day of the show.
